Confusion.

Shapes of martyrdom
created simply with
sharp smooth manipulation
present company excluded,
of course

breaking down the
course of events
tolerated and shifted
masterfully played
and understated
brightness and contrast
notwithstanding
but calculated
through the moving air
like messages
imprinted

waves break
through and over
I am once more
Convinced of anything
and certain of nothing.

playing my fears
today
a movie reel
slow in black and white
watching them fall
across the screen
in shadows
this is just
entertainment
I didn't mean
not to show

moment

on the brink again
i look startled
at the picture before
my eyes
closed so tightly
opened suddenly
the light is so blinding
casting shadows
of doubtful intentions
is it too much
to ask for
one pure moment
no worries
no insecurities
just bliss painted all over
